In October 2007, a meeting at UN headquarters in Geneva explored models through which responsible business can help the jewellery sector contribute to UN development goals.

In June 2010, WJCEF conducted its first CSR executive course in Belgium. In subsequent years, seminars and workshops were held worldwide, including an event at UN headquarters in New York in April 2014.

In 2010, during UNITAR Week at the Shanghai Expo, CSR workshops were conducted; in 2011 ITCCO was established in Antwerp, covering human rights, labour, environment, ethics, sustainability and governance along the jewellery value chain.
